February Richmond Wedding | Leah & Matt

They’d both been waiting for this day for SO long, and the excitement that it was finally here was palpable! She’s absolutely crazy about him. You could tell from way she just seemed to relax as she walked down the aisle that “home” for her meant wherever he was. And when you contrasted his nerves before the ceremony to how much more at ease he was when it was just the two of them during portraits, it was so clear that she’s his home as well.

Leah & Matt met as lifeguards at the Twin Hickory pool during high school, and have been best friends ever since. Although it was six years before they began dating, Leah knew after a year of knowing Matt that this was the man she would one day marry. After spending just a few moments with these two, I had no doubt in my mind just how strong of a bond they share. Not only was the story of their romance classic, but their ceremony encompassed the same theme with simple yet stunning steal blue bridesmaid dresses, a chic laced bride’s gown, and a bouquet and venue adorned with blush roses and stunning thistles. I loved every aspect of their wedding; like the breathtaking letter written by Matt declaring his love to Leah, running through the rain to take portraits at the Virginia State Capitol Building, and dancing the night away at The John Marshall Ballrooms. Each moment just a great at the last!

Leah and Matt, your wedding day was such a joy to witness. Seeing how each of your families adored you all, both individually and together, was such testament that you absolutely belong together. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the honor of documenting your memories!
