all the details

As a mom of 2 fast growing little girls, I get it. Time goes by far too quickly! And you're probably incredibly busy too, which makes it difficult to have recent family photos on your walls! Allow me to help make your life easier.

As your portrait photographer, I will help plan your session and give you lots of tips to prepare. Overwhelmed by how to plan outfits for 3 kids and 2 adults that are cute but don't look like a family uniform? I'll gladly give you some "what to wear" pointers! Not sure about doing an in-home session because your house is a mess? Fear not.
(Pssst: my home isn't clutter free either!)

Don't miss out or delay your portrait session because the kids may not cooperate, or you haven't lost those last few pounds (I'm with you on both of those!) because nothing is more important than celebrating the beauty of your family. Big, small, young, old, rambunctious or not - because that is exactly who you are at this moment in time.

frequently asked questions

How many outfits are allowed for our session?

Typically one outfit is easiest, especially with finicky little ones. If you’d like to try for an outfit change, that’s totally fine! Just keep it easy and simple. Usually changing accessories (hats, jackets, etc) is best. For newborns, we can do a few different outfits and props for baby, but often just a simple white onesie or cute wrap is all we need!

When will we receive our photos?

Can I order prints or products?

Typically 3-4 weeks after your session. I try to be as quick as I can since I know you’ll want them for announcements,Christmas cards, or are just super excited to see them!

After your session, I’ll edit your photos and upload them to an online gallery. You can share this gallery with friends and family, and you’ll be able to download your digital files from here as well. You may also order products such as canvases, prints, or framed prints directly from the gallery.

How do newborn session work?

Lifestyle newborn session provide organic posing and setups around your home. I will not bring props or my posing bean bag, though I will have a few headbands and blankets with me. The key to in home sessions working well is that you have good light!

What about props & pets?

How many locations may I use for my session?

For family sessions, I generally will do one or two locations if possible, but it really depends on the ages of any children and what your hopes are for your session. Newborn sessions are held in your home - so we do just one location! You’ll be glad to relax at home.

My advice is to keep things simple whenever possible. I do love incorporating props or a theme for a photoshoot - it’s a lot of fun! Pets are welcome as long as you bring someone along to help with the pet while we are doing other poses that may not be conducive.
