The backstory of how Jordan & Sthil became my new friends (and clients) occurred differently then most. Normally, people find me via my social media formats, my website, word of mouth, vendor referrals, or at the Richmond Weddings bridal show. That’s the norm for this business…. However, in this case you could essentially say I found them. It was a random January day when I was scrolling Facebook and noticed an image of an adorable couple… I got sucked in… I read the post eloquently written by Hayley (a Colorado wedding photographer…check her work out here) searching for a wedding photographer for her best friend. Then my eyes scrolled up to the interaction on the post and noticed that hundreds of other photographers had submitted their information and desire to be considered for the beautiful couples wedding to be held in Amelia Island, Florida. Hundreds!!!!
I have been wanting to do another destination wedding after Taylor & Steven’s amazing wedding on Gwynn’s Island. The sincerity of it all is that my long term business goal is to have a few destination weddings each year. We live in such a beautiful state, beautiful country, beautiful world… I would love to travel capturing love as far as my eye can see.
So I decided why not… why not join the masses and submit my desire to capture this wedding that hundreds of other photographers were applying for. Again… Hundreds!!!! However, instead of posting in the initial post I sent Hayley a private message… it was a gamble since you have to approve private messages and she may never have seen it… but the odds were in my favor. Hayley and I chatted a bit and in the end she provided me with Jordan’s information!!! YAY!!!!!! I had a chance!!!! Well Jordan & I connected, instantly started texting like we were in high school again, and the rest is history! I have a new friend, a new 2018 couple, and tickets booked to the beautiful Amelia Island for this September!
But you know me… you know I could not wait until September to meet Jordan & Sthil in person… I take each of my relationships with my couples so personally that I was itching to meet them sooner. So we arranged to meet in Washington, North Carolina and take some engagement pictures. It was a windy day, but we made the best of it. We explored the little town, that seemingly came out of nowhere and got to know each other even better. (Literally you drive through a few fields and county roads and end up at this beautiful waterfront community). I got to meet their fur babies Coach & Cooper, and we got to watch the most beautiful sunset!
Ugh….now I have to wait until September to see them again!!! But I truly can not wait to hang out with them both, meet their families, meet Hayley… the amazing woman that brought us together… and capture the next chapter in their love story!
