I have been so excited to write this blog and introduce you all to Hope & Scott. However, I have to admit that I was super excited but also a bit nervous for Hope and Scott’s engagement session. From the very beginning I knew it would be epic… no legendary, but I truly had no idea just how amazing it was going to be until I was knee deep!
Let’s back up a little and start at the beginning. Normally by the time that we get to engagement portraits, I have already met with the couple and we have began building a report. This time was a tad different. I was lucky enough to be introduced to Hope through her best friend Meredith (the amazing Catering & Sales Manager at The Dominion Club). After a few email’s back and forth we set up a time to meet at the Scott’s Addition Urban Farmhouse.
Normally, at this point I am meeting the future bride and groom and we get to go over fun details for the big day. However, for this meeting I got to enjoy the evening with Hope and Meredith! (There just may be a running joke that this wedding is really Hope and Meredith’s… and I love it because they really are the best of friends and so much fun to be around) Now that I have met Scott and I want to testify that he is an amazing man… and just have to say that I love how he allows Hope’s best friend to go along to the wedding consults and be such a huge part of the process! At that time, the most I knew about Scott was from stories about their engagement and his one request for this meeting. He requested that whomever was picked to be the wedding photographer be willing to take some super fun images he had been planning. Of course I was all in!
Fast forward a few months and we met at Maymont park and gardens in Richmond for the first half of their session! The weather was absolutely beautiful- we seriously couldn’t have asked for a nicer day. The cherry blossom trees had just started their peak bloom so we were able to capture some really stunning Maymont engagement photos. It made my heart happy!
Enjoy part one from Hope & Scott’s Maymont engagement session… and head below if you would like to learn more about Scott’s request and see part two!
I always love doing engagement sessions with our wedding couples because it allows us the chance to take a peek into how they interact with each other and this was especially true for Hope and Scott. Within the first five minutes of photographing them, I knew they were my people!
Ahhh…. that chemistry!!!!
I seriously can’t wait for their wedding this fall at The Boathouse Sunday Park. Its going to be full of fun, and Hope (and Meredith) is working hard planning so many beautiful details for their wedding day!
PS PART TWO IS EPIC… SEE MORE OF SCOTT & HOPE HERE!!!
