I love engagement sessions. No, really, I LOVE them. They’re taken during such a fleeting window of time between the proposal and the wedding… a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture a couple as they are then. Some of my favorite photos that I’ve ever taken have been during engagement sessions! My most favorite thing of all is when couples use this opportunity to do something or go somewhere that is personal and unique to them. If you are planning your engagement session, I would highly suggest that you customize your session to reflect who you are. Not only will the session be more fun for you if you feel like it has a connection to your relationship, it will also produce photos that are much more meaningful to you in the years to come!
Hope & Scott’s did not need this advice. In fact, their engagement session was a first for me… not in the sense of having an amazing session, but a first in the way that we had two completely different tones for their engagement session. Scott made it very clear from the beginning that the only way he would partake in engagement photos is if he could bring some of his own personality to the session. Of course I was more then happy to oblige!
We began the evening at the beautiful Maymont park and gardens for part one and it was absolutely stunning. The Cherry Blossom trees were in peak bloom and the couple were beyond stunning!!! See more from part one of the session here. However, this blog has nothing to do with Maymont, Cherry Blossom trees, or how stunning this couple looked. Instead, this blog has everything to do with fun, laughter, and a pure zest for enjoying life.
After the first half of their engagement session, we moved locations to The Carillon in Richmond. It was at this time that I officially met Jandice & David, as inspired by the 2016 Zack Galifianakis movie Masterminds. To say this evening was incredible would be a terrible injustice to just how epic it truly was! Please do yourself a favor and visit this link to the clip that inspired this session, and enjoy all the fun images we captured in the honor of Jandice & David Ghantt!!
Poncho their new pup came to visit and was just the cutest!!!
Now that you enjoyed this truly epic engagement session… head on over to part one where you you can meet Hope and Scott… the masterminds behind this recreation!
PS… Meet Meredith , Hope’s beautiful best friend and the amazing Catering & Sales Manager at The Dominion Club … if you read part one you would totally understand why she had to be here for the session laughing away with us and enjoying the fun!!!
